I attended the Altered Barbie Exhibition for the first time in 2009 and was so impressed and inspired by the diversity and creativity of entries, I immediately wanted to join in the fun! This is my second foray into Barbie art.

Artist Statement

Last year when I started working on my Barbie pieces, it surprised me to discover that I was unwilling to dismember or really disfigure the dolls. (Except for her nose. I really wanted to give one of the Barbies a distinctly non-Barbie nose, like mine. But that little ski-slope kept popping back into shape.) This year I managed to behead two dolls.
