Annual Exhibition - Terms & Conditions for Artists
All submissions must interpret, comment on, or criticize what Barbie or Ken mean to you. Dolls that are acceptable are: Barbie and Barbie like dolls, Christie, Courtney, Gillian, Kayla, Midge, Ken and Ken like dolls, Raquelle, Skipper, Tia, etc. Works not including an ™Altered∫ Barbie or Ken will not be considered for this show. We are looking for all mediums!
SALES and SPLIT: When something is sold, the artist will receive 50% of the proceeds.
All payment will be sent out within 30 days from the closing date of the sale or exhibition to the best of our ability unless the buyer has delayed payment for some reason, of which we will fully
inform you. All work must be for sale, no nfs items will be accepted.
ENTRANCE FEE: Jury and Publicity Fee: $40.00 for one year on the web site and a feature.
NUMBER OF PIECES ALLOWED FOR SUBMISSION into the show: Limit 6 pieces per Artist: number on the site: 10
DEADLINES:
Deadline for Altered Barbie submissions is August 7th, 2009. Please remit all information to the web site.
Promotion Art Deadline: Friday July 20th, 2009. Artwork will be selected for promotion on web-sites, post card, e-vite, and images for the press. Images should be 300dpi or higher.
Calendar Art deadline: Friday July 20th, 2009. (If there are enough submissions I will put together a calendar again this year!)
If you are interested in having your submission considered for the exhibition calendar:
Please send your high res images: 300dpi through yousendit.com or mail CD with high resolution image(s) of your submission. The images should be 300dpi or higher. The image has to be 300 dpi for printing (ie 300 dots per inch). Dpi translates as pixels to the digital image.
The calendar page where the image will be placed into is 8.5 x 11 inches landscape.
If your image is a vertical one, then the height of the photo must be minimum 8 x 300 (2300-2400 pixels). If the image is horizontal then the width of the image should be at
least 10 x 300 (3000 pixels).

PUBLICITY: ChatterBox will send a formal press release to all pertinent media outlets, including newspapers, magazines and local broadcast companies.
NOTICES:
All Artists will be informed of their entry to the show by August 14th or before 2009.
Post card invitations and e-vites will be available to all artists.
We are not responsible for any artwork left after October 1st, 2009.
If you are an artist residing outside of the San Francisco Bay Area and your work is
selected for the exhibition, you are solely responsible for coordinating the return of your artwork and shipping costs, which include packing labor, packing material, postage, and insurance, etc.
INSURANCE: Although every precaution will be taken to assure the safety and security of accepted artwork please be aware that artwork is submitted at your own risk and ChatterBox does not insure individual submitted artwork against theft or damage.
