Promise Keeper Kit

Mixed-media assemblage from the Paradise LOST and Found series, consisting of table, vintage Ken & Barbie travel case, 13" Jesus, baby bottle (filled with things to "save" your relationship, like antacids, bandaids, antidepressants), empty Jack Daniels bottle, modified doll, fabric.

Inspired by the ridiculous promise of self-help books and the hypocrisy of a local member of the Promise Keepers (a Christian faith organization), this piece pokes fun at the idea that there is anything magical or instantaneous about maintaining a healthy relationship...other than effort and commitment.
