A CALL TO ARTISTS: This year San Francisco, Barbie, and Ken are re-doing it, re-using it, and re-inventing it all over again! A Date with Barbie!

All submissions must interpret, comment on, or criticize what Barbie or Ken mean to you. Dolls that are acceptable are: Barbie and Barbie like dolls, Christie, Courtney, Gillian, Kayla, Midge, Ken and Ken like dolls, Raquelle, Skipper, Tia, etc. Works not including an "Altered" Doll will not be considered for this show.

WHEN: September 9th to Octber 1st, 2010
Artist Reception: September 16th
Closing Reception: September 30th

LOAD IN of all work is September 7th. Hanging: September 8th.

PICK UP of all art is Sunday October 1st. We are not responsible for any artwork left after October 1st. If you are an artist residing outside of the San Francisco Bay Area and your work is selected for the exhibition, you are solely responsible for coordinating the return of your artwork and shipping costs, which include packing labor, packing material, postage, and insurance, etc. Altered Barbie is not responsible for any work left after the pick up date.

SALES and SPLIT: When something is sold, the artist will receive 50% of the proceeds. All payment will be sent out within 30 days from the closing date of the exhibit to the best of our ability, unless the buyer has delayed payment for some reason, of which we will fully inform you. All work must be for sale, no nfs items will be accepted.

ENTRANCE FEE: Jury and Publicity Fee:
$45.00 for one year on the web site and entry to the exhibition.

NUMBER OF PIECES ALLOWED FOR SUBMISSION:
The exhibition: a maximum of 6 pieces per Artist
The web site: a maximum of 10 pieces per Artist

DEADLINES FOR ENTRY: August 15th (Extended!)

All artwork should be submitted via the website.  Your membership must be current to enter the exhibition. 

Photographic representations of your art work for consideration can be submitted through our website.  If you wish these to be considered for the print items above please upload 300DPI JPEG images.

Again, all submissions must interpret, comment on, or criticize what Barbie or Ken mean to you.

PUBLICITY: ChatterBox will send a formal press release to all pertinent media outlets, including newspapers, magazines and local broadcast companies

INSURANCE: Although every precaution will be taken to assure the safety and security of accepted artwork, please be aware that artwork is submitted at your own risk and ChatterBox does not insure individual submitted artwork against theft or damage.
