Toybox

This piece is approximately 24 inches high. It is interactive, and has four panels: a Russian Nesting Doll, a Barbie, A Teddy Bear, and a Robot. The viewer can turn the boxes to create different combinations of head, body and feet. It is pretty heavy; around 50 lbs, being made of cardboard boxes filled with plaster.

My piece allows for those toys that maybe don't live up Barbie's unrealistic standard of beauty, to experience what it is like to be the doll who has it all. Then again, maybe Barbie would like robot arms or fuzzy feet? We always want what we can't have...
